I've just been on a cruise and they wanted $299 for 10 days wifi. They did claim it worked anywhere on the ship, but IMHO that's extortionate.
I use an EE 3G dongle for work, however I find that coverage is quite patchy and sometimes won't even get a signal at all at many customer sites, or at the hotel on an evening. Often I can get 3/4G on my phone in the same room no problem, so I don't know if it's a limitation of the dongle or the particular network.
TBH there are so many places that give free wifi, such as cafes, bars and shopping centres (we used all of these when ashore during the cruise) that I'd be inclined just to accept that while on holiday access will be a bit more curtailed. However, I do know how much our eldest (27) is glued to her phone so I can understand the pressure on parents to provide wifi... |
