So, looking for a long weekend in August and would like:

1) Sandy beach
2) Not Spain (or its islands)
3) Not France
4) Good flights from London considering going friday night/saturday morning coming back monday night
5) Ideally 25C-30C temps
6) Sea water as hot as possible (appreciate limited by 5)

We don't have kids so not wanting "family friendly" but that doesnt mean we want adult exclusive either.

Any suggestions of where to go? Most the usual suspects I've looked at the flights are all wrong or its a pebble beach etc

You'll struggle to keep to 25C-30C in August with sandy beaches in a destination not too far away for a long weekend. Expect 30C   most sandy places in Europe.

Ignoring the temperature issue, Croatia or Greece and their islands, or Portugal to be closer to home whilst probably having slightly lower temps.

A hotter temp isnt the end of the world, it was 40  in Dubai when we went but then each beach lounger had its own cold box with water, a spray, wet towels etc and they changed the ice in it frequently. As long as the restaurants and hotel rooms have good aircon

Croatia would be my choice then, more sun than anywhere else in Europe and the beaches looked sensational

As odd as it may sound, but Copenhagen could be right up your street. If the weather is good it will be great. Got sandy beaches. Really cool place to be. But you can't guarantee weather. Still, plenty to do.

Yeah, its a lovely place, but I looked recently and the flights were expensive, and it's fairly expensive once you get there too...

And they have their own currency instead of the euro which could be a pain...

How about Greece?

It really doesn't have to be expensive - Ryanair is very cheap, the Copenhagen card is great value for money, AirBNB is active there, just stay away from the tourist area for food

Yeah, we were a bit limited as flying from the northeast...flights were 270...so, we went to Holland paid 80 instead...

Excellent. As a former USA girlfriend told me once: Holland is the capital of Denmark
