Going on a trip to the USA and would like to find out what network to use. Currently on plusnet and checking the terms they don’t include the states for using my allowance. My phone is sim free and would use it. Not bothered about having my number ported to the new sim as the people that I need to speak to will have my new number before I go. When there, probably use about 1 to 200 minutes and maybe 1 to 2gb of data.
Any help would be appreciated

Thanks for that LV426. Had a look and they seem to do a few good deals on their sim only plans. Not sure what the coverage is up here so I’ll give it a try and might swap over full time.

I'm presently paying all of £8 PM for unlimited text and call, and 1gig data (which is more than enough for the way I use it).  And "free" roaming and just about all the places I might want to go - including Hong Kong.

You can always get a PAYG SIMCard to start with and see how it goes.  And even if only for roaming, buy a call/text/data "bundle" in advance of your trip.

I think that seems a good idea re. the 3 sim for my trip. Quite happy with my current deal at plusnet as it does give me roaming in Europe. If the states were included it would have been ideal but the charges for there are huge by comparison. Thanks again.

Not by their choice, I suspect.  EU rules - by which we are bound until March next year.  Who knows after that.......

We'll be ok up here with being still in the EU ( if wee miss Krankie doesn't get her way) lol
