No you've read it quite correctly, at least about the 75%.
But just to clarify, I don't mean a 75% discount on the full price. I mean, 75% off the best deal you find and might buy at 100% of that figure if you didn't have the card, except you do and with the card it will be just a quarter of what you see.
Lets take an example. A First Class fare of £15000 full price, is looked for well in advance and at an off peak season has been seen for £4000. Ah great - I'll go for that then. But because I then use the discounting card to pay for it, I only pay a quarter of that low figure - that's just £1000 to pay.
Similarly with hotels and car hire, etc. I see on a site like Kayak, a deal with Hertz for a car, £600, which already is a good deal. But using the credit card, its only £150.
i.e. You pay a quarter of the deal that you spot, so long as you use the credit card to pay for it. It automatically divides the price by 4 in what you are charged.
Such a card would also ideally not have an annual fee. Being a travel orientated card, it would also be nice if you could pick up Avios on it as well., say at ten Avios per £1 spent ( all purchases ). |
