Depending upon the medical condition, some airlines may not take them either. They will probably need a Medical Information Form (MEDIF) completed by the GP.
Please don't do what I witnessed at the car rental desk at Rome airport a few years back. A guy arrived with an artificial leg and eye patch to pick up his rental. 45 minutes and a very restless queue later and he left empty handed, as he had no doctors certificate or letter to state he could drive and had endorsements on his New Zealand licence he could not explain. Apparently he was already a day late, as Air NZ had refused to carry him until he could get a doctor's letter. All very stressful for him I am sure! |
