Looking at booking a week away to Zante next month, wondered what people's experience has been. Ideally looking at a villa with pool and avoiding the 18-30 crowd.

My first ever holiday was zante back in 2002 I think, with jmc. We stayed in a dive appartment in amoudi (I don't think it even an available destination now). I went back a few years ago and stayed in a new hotel in tragaki. I enjoyed both holidays and didn't encounter any 18-30 type stuff. I think laganas is noted for that. We tended to go to tsilivi. Be careful if hiring a car which I suggest you do. At one particular petrol station near tsilivi they just brim the tank no matter what you say. I asked for 15 euro, just as we were taking the car back and she stuck about 60 in. I was ready to just chuck the 15 at her and drive off, but my companions caved in and we paid up.

Laganas is very geared up for the young folk.

we were on the verge of booking up to go there in sept - and fly from newcastle...

but the flight times were  -

and we wouldn't have minded sitting around when we arrived until our room was ready, but turns out our room was booked from the 9th, and come the 16th we had the option to keep our room until 6pm for an extra 80, or an extra night for 180-200 quid... we declined as it pushed us over our desired budget... so, bear that in mind..

I’ve been summonsed to Zante next July for a wedding, never been before so I’d be keen to hear alternatives

alternatives to what? Used to go twice a year to Tsilivi- nice place but got a bit too busy

Stayed here a couple of times but it was aro7nd 25 years ago. Still gets good reviews or not if you go to page 2!
