Just wanted to post a well done message to all those athletes who represented the UK for the World strongest man 2012.

Did anyone watch it.

Big shame about Terry this year, i think we would have seen a 2nd or another 3rd from him. Hopfully he will come back stronger after his injury and go for next years.
This years did show us what talent awaits , and its nice to know that UK strongmans future is in safe hands ..... Ed Hall being the ONE to watch. Couple of years and i predict him crushing any comp he enters.

They had the atlas stones in the heats and used the less common power stairs for the final.

I think 3rd would have been the best Terry could have hoped for but yes a real shame it ended with injury. Terry does have one major weakness in his game and that is his lack of shoulder power, this is the reason he has never won it before and will continue to struggle in the future.

with regards to the future, the young Icelandic guy looks a beast. IMO you need good Scandinavian strongmen with plenty of "VIKING POWER". I much prefer to see one of them win it than an American

True , he certainly can pull and carry like a champ but loses a lot of points with the pushing stuff. He Dead lift wasnt bad but he "emptied his tank" at 7 where as i think the other could have gone on.
I would have like to have seen Poundstone win but i think his time has past. Dont really like Shaw - just seems too confident and looks like that bloke from the Goonies. Ive always liked the eastern europeans , Big Z is such a legend.

it's filmed in the Summer.  Although the information is out there if you look, the competitors are generally very good at keeping results under wraps until it airs.
