Yeah its a break fall and they have to get up with one leg coverig there groin area. I wasnt too sure watching the classes but once it was all put into the pressure test it looks worth doing. They use Krav maga and BJJ. Glad you think it looks ok. He dpes this once a week and kyokushin twice so should hopefully be able to look after himself in the future. I have done about 8 classes now and its competely different from his old club, i love it. Had a taste of conditioning and i got punched all round the place by a girl lol

last couple of lessons have got me wondering what i have got me and my son into with this kyokishun lark! On a Monday the class generally consists of Richard 4th dan then Niki 2nd dan and Jess 1st dan then me and Richard. Me nd Richard get split with Niki or Jess and get atleast an hour of one on one tuition. Getting tough already, last lesson Jess put me through the first kata and i got 10-12 x 10 punishment press ups for mistakes!! This kinda **** didnt happen the lesson before and this lesson i got 2 x 10 within a minute of techniques then i swore to myself (outloud) and i got 50 fudging press ups on my knuckles!! I honestly did 20 knucks and collapsed regained breath and completed the 50 normal style with a mini collapse around the 42 mark. I Did them though!  So 15 minutes into a 2 hour class i am exhausted already and i can see a drink but cant touch it. While i was dong my press ups Richard also got 50 press ups for something and he did them too. He is 10 but because he wears a brown belt he gets treated like a brown belt and all the **** that comes with it lol Next month sometime is grading day and for Richard it will be  2 hours long then sparring. Mine is an hour long with no sparring and i am worried lol Richards grading is free as its a regrading from his old club which is super cool. Old school traditional beats new school down to the ground, i love it

That Karate sounds super strict, if my Judo instructor told one of the seniors in my club to do all those press ups they would just laugh at him, I know I would.

Think he is giving us a taste of things to come. He said that 80% of new students dont last a month and i can see why. Its not tiny tigers lol

Found some apps to help me. Push up pro is quite clever. Fone on floor and it counts as u hit it with your chin. Gives you a daily programme to increase the amount over time. Sit up pro and squat pro.

Did 200 press ups today

Sounds silly but this karate has completely changed my outlook on excercise. Had brekkie then 150 pushups (resting in between) 50 squats n 50 sit ups. Then went swimming until my arms started burning. Loving it!

Eating healthy now cut out all the fast food and eating more fruit pasta chicken eggs and steak and rice. Swimming and 200 press ups a day this karate has changed me! Got a bit of bruising on my fore arm from doing ippons lastnight, apparently this will be a common theme for a couple of years. I will take any punishment to keep my boy in this club lol
