As a neutral, that was a fantastic game to watch.
Ireland had the game to win - all they had to do was hold onto the ball....... and they blew it. Against any other team they might have got away with it, but against the ABs you just can give them an inch.
I too would love to see a NH side take the ABs scalp, and that was the best chance any team has had in a long while.... If Ireland play in the 6N like they did for the first 60 minutes of that game they'll walk it, IMO.
I just wonder how much longer Paul O'Connell can keep going like that!
As a quick aside, all credit to the greatest ref in world rugby at the present time, in his 50th match today. Nigel Owens' contribution to that game made it the spectacle it was - just as he did in the SA v ABs Championship decider. Da iawn. |
