Always wanted to go to a day at Wimbledon to see a match, tick it off the list so to speak. Looking on ebay there silly prices even for 1st round.

Anyone know any other way to go cheaper, maybe arrive early to get cancellation tickets or something if you queue?

Not sure, just wondered if anyone else managed to go to Wimbledon with tickets that didn't require a re-mortgage.

Thanks

Other ways of getting tickets to one of the two show courts would be to goin an LTA affiliated Tennis Club that runs a members ballot for tickets or become a member of the LTA itself of which they run their own ballot.

I used to be an LTA member years ago and managed to get tickets that way to the 2nd Thursday (Court 1)

It can be hit & miss being a ballot but other than paying over the odds from buying online I don't really know of any other way to be honest. Proabaly a bit late now though for this year as they would all have been allocated by now with less than a week & 1/2 until the start of the tournament. Something to bare in mind for the future though.....

Might also be worth going down on a given day, as you'll be surprised to find a lot of people leave early and hand their tickets in at the gate when leaving which then gives others wanting to see some decent tennis an opportunity to buy them at a reduced rate on entry.

You can turn up on the day and get a day pass for the outside courts. They cost £20 for the first few days and then less as the tournament progresses (because most matches thereon will be played on the bigger courts).

All show court tickets are sold through the ballot and applications need to be in by 31st Dec the previous year.

There are a few hundred tickets kept back for sale on the day to those that have queued up, but you will need to be there early/the previous day to get these.

As mentioned you can also get ground passes on the day, so you can watch matches on the outside/ non show courts and sit up on the hill and watch the matches on the big screen.

Towards the end of the day/afternoon there is also ticket resale for the show courts, or you could hang around the exits to the courts and ask people for their tickets as they are leaving.

Does anyone knows is it possible to get ticekts for centre court if you  dont sleep there overnight and you just come there early in the morning  and wait in the row? Or you have more chances to get tickets if you  sleep there over night?
Thank you for your answeres.

Thank you for your response. I will be there for the second week of the tournament. So you think is better to sleep then overnight then just coming there early in the morning? Do you have some experiance with that? I am not from UK, so if I will need to I will buy tent in London and sleep there overnight just to get tickets for the show courts.
