Golf Courses in Derbyshire | Golf Derbyshire - Morley Hayes

Morley Hayes - Breakfast Roll/Coffee/18 Holes/1 course Meal (same dish for everyone from a selection). £32 per person.

Mim numbers 12 - extract from their email "
To qualify for a group booking the party must be 12 players or more, this will entitle you to book through our society packages which are slightly cheaper than paying for each section individually.

Looking at at your requirements you would fit into our package C Which on a Friday is £32 Per Person. If you are less than 12 you can still book the Golf and use the spike Bar for food but we would not be able to pre-book the food, you would just order the food as and when off the Spike Bar Menu and pay at the bar.

If you think you may have less than 12 this would be the best way as if you book as a group you would have to pay for 12 even if there were less on the day.

Update
3 x Tee off times now reserved at Morley Hayes from 1052am onwards.

Cheers Dom, Morley Hayes gets good recent reviews and has decent week day prices, also a fairly open course for us slightly wayward drivers So I'll plump for Morley if that helps the narrowing down process. We need to get a bit of exposure to this thread, because I'm possibly not the only one who doesn't venture into the sports section that often.

Cheers Toasty.

I have prices back from 3/4 clubs now.  They're pretty reasonable at Morley Hayes too.  I'll add them to the first post tonight.

Played there (Morley) several times.  Big, wide, open course so plenty of chances to let rip for you big hitters.

Happy to go with Morley dependent on cost obviously.

Pretty flexible for dates in Apr/May so happy to just say I'll be there, just let me know when!

Just had a very quick look at the websites for the top 3 courses, and I am happy with Morley Hayes as well - I will check with Preston and Adrian, but probably won't know until we have a definite day decided whether or not they will be able to attend

I am already committed (as is Preston) to a golf day on Monday 5th May, but as yet, nothing else is booked in so should be free for any day

The only thing that might crop up, although I am hoping it is all sorted before the end of March, is I am in the process of selling my house but if we get a date sorted before I have a completion date for the house then I will see what I can do to re-arrange so I can make it

Morley Hayes looks good lads. I'd be keen for a knock. Mrs is due 6th April, so any time around too close to D-Day, I'm shafted. Other than that, let me know when something concrete is sorted and I'm sure I can sort a day off graft.

I played Morley and Horsley lodge last year and really liked them both, but Horsley is by far the more interesting of the two

Good to hear some player experience, happy to go with either as I've not played any of the suggested courses so far. See what prices come back.

I need to sort out Easter school break before I can commit to April dates, but May should be pretty much clear for me.

Prices back from 2/4 so far.

Updated 1st post with details.

Breadsall Priory is probably a similar price to Horsley with the added bonus of a helipad in the middle of the course for those of you that want to arrive in style

Ramsdale probably around the Morley Hayes price.

That's probably about right though i've not played Horsley for a few years now.  The greens (from memory) where pretty nice though.

The course is definitely a class above the norm (for me anyway!) (you can tell just by driving in the entrance it's quite nice!) but at nearly double the price (for a normal round) of Morley Hayes it should be.

We did a 3 day "Golf Mystery Tour" last year and Horsley and Morley were the first 2 courses. We played Shirland (Shirland Golf Club ) on the 3rd day which seemed to include Derbyshire hills that we had missed in the first 2! It is not as nice as the others but a very, erm, "interesting" course nonetheless.

I'm having to organise this year's trip which will be in the Manchester/Oldham area - so any course recommendations will be very much appreciated!
