In addition to the comments from snerkler, the other change is the switch to the newer NP-FZ100 battery - which has a much higher than the NP-FW50 battery the A7RII uses.
How much this affects you will depend on how you use the camera - I always carry 2 spare NP-FW50 with my A6000, as I know I'll probably use at least 1-2 full batteries in a day - but they are cheap, small and light, so it's more an irritation of having to spend 30s swapping batteries when one runs out than anything else.
If you're going to use the camera a lot, particularly in situations where missing an opportunity because the battery has given out at an inopportune moment is a problem, then the A7III with it's much longer battery life (particularly if you add a VG to have multiple batteries) might be a better option (it's also, from all reports, a phenomenal camera for the money!) |
