Looking for a new superzoom for video and pics for a basic user, as an upgrade from my TZ40.
The Nikon A900 being a strong contender and now it has a discount on so is available, new, for £254, seems a decent deal, Duracell spare batteries are £11 also.
So a couple of specific questions on using it for any users please, in no particular order. I'll number them for ease of answering.
1) Does it zoom during video? Smoothly?
2) Can you take take still pics during video.
3) I think it has panaroma, does this work well?
4) How is auto focusing at the extreme zoom level? What is the stabilization system like? Is it optical?
5) Is it stereo audio recording for video?
6) It has no GPS like my TZ40, but uses a phone app to get GPS location. I like this tagging function, does it work well, decrement to battery?
7) Is the 4K decent footage, or better to go 1080P @60 frames? Not sure if the 4K in it is just a "look it's a 4K camera" badge.
8) Does the flash pop up automatically when needed or is this manually done? TZ40 just fires when needed automatically.
The A900 is over 2 years old now since release. Wondering if a new one around corner, like everything I suppose, but just seems a while since release and wouldn't want to buy and next month new one out?
Anything missing for this type of camera? Anything poor specifically on it?
