Not been there before and whilst I can take a couple of lenses if I could just take one, given the layout and what to see, which one ?

This is on my Oly OMD 10 of course and I have the 14-140 tele, 20mm  and the 60mm macro.

My preference was for the 14-140 & Macro or just the 14-140 to cover everything.

Thoughts ?

If just one the 14-140 is the obvious choice. Macro might be worth it too though, although I've never been either. Where there's flowers there's macro opportunities though.

And I do like flowers.....

The 20mm 1.7 is a nice lens but a bit restricting when there are so many different viewpoints on offer by the looks of it

Been a few times (also worth going in the darker winter evenings when they put lights out for christmas and other events). Like street photography, whatever you're comfortable with really. There's so many ways to shoot Kew you can't go wrong with wide angle or a 50/85mm lens for some nice bokeh shots. For a first visit the tele makes sense. But next time I go I'd probably take a wide angle lens for the fun of the challenge. A lot of the time at Kew you can get closer to a subject but it's not always possible getting back and fitting tall trees in the frame.

Whilst not going to be true macro could you not just get close with the 14-140mm? What’s the min focus distance?

Not sure Snerks... but its pretty close and the 14-140 crops really well so I'm pretty decided on just the 14-140 to keep things simple.

I was considering my Sony RX100 Mk1 as a that takes great pictures but the lack of viewfinder is where it falls down on what will be a sunny day

I know very little about the photography angle....but I have been to Kew recently. Of course the place is full of unusual plants and flowers.....The Temperate House has recently reopened after some 5 years being restored, on the day we went which was very sunny, it is REALLY bright in there and there's loads of opportunity for shots with light streaming through palm leaves etc. Also try and visit "The Hive" if you can, a very unusual architectural structure/art installation. Enjoy!

Went yesterday and the light was nearly perfect for photography and walking around. Sunny but not too bright then a bit duller, in a good way, later on. We walked 7.6miles......... its huge.

Good day and the parakeets feed around 18.00 in the crab apple trees near the Victoria Gate so got a feww good shots of those. Will post tomorrow.
