Nice package and a too good to be true price - pleade note this will be grey imported items and not UK stock - with thevassocisted potential issues it raises

Also not a fan of the company

If you don't mind grey importsbthen Panamoz haveba good reputation and offer a UK bssed warranty return service - suggedtbyou contact them with the slrhut link for that deal and ask them to price it up for you for comparison purposes

Canon - Digital Cameras

If he's into adtronomy then how will he be shooting the skies - directly with the camear   lens or via a telescope as this may well help us configure a better package to suit his use of the camera?

Also does it need to be a Canon camera ?

Hi Jim
Thanks for time answering my questions as regard the astronomy he's got a dedicated camera for that,it doesn't have to be a Canon its just that deal seemed really good,i just need a complete setup,eg body, lenses, mem cards, tripod etc all for 1k,the reason i chose the eos80 was from reviews,so yes i would look at other makes.

In that case I would suggest contacting panamoz as I mentioned earlier and ask them to put together a comparable bunde for either a Canon or Nikon based solution

Personally I would only reallybother about the camera body and lenses initially but see what they can do.

If he has the astrophotography angle covered already what camera is he using as it woukd make sense to possibly select tge same brand as lenses ciukd be interchanged?

Also what would he be using the new kit for in terms of types of photography as this will make a difference in terms of which modeks and lenses to recommend?

Am I understanding this right, he loves astronomy but doesn’t want this camera for that purpose as he already has one?

I’m always a bit dubious of bundles like that as you tend to end up with a load of stuff that never gets used. Also it states “professional grade tripod”,.... hmmmm.

If I was to buy grey I would only buy from Panamoz or E-Infinity, preferably panamoz with their warranty.

Canon vs Nikon is a never ending debate as to which is best. For a price point Nikon bodies tend to be better (more so in the sensor) but it comes down to preference of the system, some are more comfortable with the controls of one over the other.

Also, be aware that the market is making a big change at the moment towards mirrorless cameras and at some point DSLRs will become kind of obsolete. I can’t see DSLRs being obsolete within the next 5-10 years though. I hope not anyway, I have A LOT of money invested into DSLRs

As for lenses he will generally need wide angle for architecture, something in the range of 10-18mm on APS-C bodies, and telephoto for nature/sports, something like 70-300mm although for nature you’re always wanting more reach

FYI, Nikon’s equivalent to the Canon 80d is the Nikon D7200. Both have pros and cons. The Nikon has more AF points and a better sensor, the Canon has more FPS, a flip out screen and has much better AF in live view (live view is using the rear LCD rather than the viewfinder).
