hi guys new to the forum
I am looking at fitness watches to track general fitness
I would like continues heart rate monitoring I know some systems are not so accurate so the mio sensor seems to be the way to go
Sleep monitoring
Pedometer
Be OK to swim in
If it has a gps the ability to switch this function off when not needed to save power

Many thoughts for any help or advise
Simon

You need GPS for proper tracking. It only comes on when you start a session so will not be continually draining power.

Therefore consider the following:

Fitbit Surge
Moto 360 Sport
Sony Smartwatch 3
Garmin Forerunner 225 or 235

The Sony has no built in heart rate monitor, but you could use a chest strap
The Sony, Moto and Fitbit are not suitable for swimming
The Sony and Moto are not suitable for sleep tracking due to battery life

I use a Garmin vivosmart which has proven great on the battery, especially if you dont use the bluetooth mutch. It needs a separate strap for heart rate but is then far more accurate than things like fitbits. For things like GPS you just link it to your phone or other garmin tech.
