I recently bought a Panasonic FZ330 bridge camera, having previously owned a FZ150 & FZ1000. In an effort to reduce wind noise, the manufacturers have moved the mikes behind the pop up flash & included an electronic wind noise reducer. I don't want to use an external mike for convenience sake but well know that despite the precautions Panasonic have made, wind noise could be a problem. I used some stick on muffs on my wife's camcorder & these have proved quite effective. But the positions of the mikes on the FZ330 (see attached image, at 14) precludes their use. So has anyone seen / used an add on muff in a similar or the same situation?

1. Maybe see whether or not it is actually a problem before doing anything.
2. Could u fashion something out of one of those black plastic hotshoe  covers and some foam or other suitable material?

Hi 237k, My fz1000 had an electronic wind cut, but in extreme conditions wasn't good enough (sailing). If you look at the diagram, the hot shoe is very close to the mikes & could make that difficult to use. I haven't tried the FZ330 in an extremely windy situation but I fear the electronic wind cut will be a compromise & favour making sure the volume is sufficient. I'll come back when I've tried it, or hopefully, someone with the same model will report their findings.
Regs Eric.

Yeh I was suggesting to make something out of a hot shoe cover with some attached foam or something projecting over the mics to act as a wind deflector. But it would mean not being able to use the hot shoe.
