Apple Watch notifications even with unlocked iPhone possible ?

Hi ,

The Apple Watch has pop up notifications for iMessage and what's app.

The Watch pop up only usually occurs when the phone is locked.

Is it possible for the Watch pop up notification to happen even when the phone is unlocked ?

This would be useful when using my iPhone as a sat nav , as otherwise I would be totally unaware of message notifications.

Unfortunately not... However, if you are using Apple Maps as your navigation tool then might I suggest placing your phone in portrait mode and putting it to sleep!  The navigation still works and the phone only wakes up when a change of direction is coming.

Doing this will allow you to receive notifications as well as haptic alerts for change of direction also.
