Fallen victim with Apple Watch 3

I have recently bought an Apple Watch 3 second hand. I received it and it was iCloud locked.
Although it was sold as locked I assumed it was just password locked and saw loads of videos on how to unlock a password so thought I could easily unlock it and use it.
Obviously, I know now the iCloud lock is different and thus I need help.

Does anybody know how I can unlock this account to then use my iCloud account so the watch is not completely useless?

Sounds to me like you bought a stolen watch. Never ever buy a locked device, those security features are there for a reason. When I was mugged, and on Christmas Day I got a notification that the device lock was activated it made me feel good knowing they had something totally useless...Just don't buy stolen goods.
