Help with getting hdmi input on a tablet

Hello, I need some help with the following challenge.

I have a drone that I use for survey work and the controller has a built in android tablet with hdmi output which provide a live view from the drones on-board camera.

I also have an ipad mini 4th gen and a sony z2 android tablet.

Is there any way of using a wired connection to get the hdmi output on either of these tablets?

I doubt it via a wire.

Don't think any tablets come with a video in socket.

Is is something I often wished laptops or tablets offered.

If you can install on to the control tablet, look at splashtop or similar to share screen via WiFi.
