Ipads Wifi/Internet issue

Hi all,

A really strange one this, i have virgin broadband and everything fine up until this morning. My daughter starting have problems with her ipad connecting to the internet. It was connecting to the router but not the internet, then the wifi would intermittently come and go. i now have this issue on my wifes and my ipads as well. All other devices connect ok including iphones (SE, 6, 6S) and laptops. I have reset router, reset network settings on ipads but nothing has worked. I am completely stumped as to why it is only ipads all of a sudden, anyone any ideas?

i have pinned it down to the 5ghz setting on the router, switch it off and the ipads connect again. Why has this only started from this morning, i have had the virgin service for 6 weeks without any connection issues on any device?
