Fire, Limiting Amount Of Stored email Or Mast Deleting

I just got a Amazon Fire HD8 and entered my details for the email, and it downloaded every one I had on my PC. I want them there on the PC but don't like them all on a Fire.
I reset the Fire but I've not gone near the email yet until I can limit what it downloads or stores.

What client are you using ?
There is usually an option in the settings to allow you to limit how much e-mail is downloaded.
