Reccomend android tablet

Hi all
Am starting to think about replacing my Samsung galaxy tab s 8 inch.
Any thoughts on a worthy successor?  Must be android

Really just after a good all rounder
Only used for general surfing, banking, shopping.  Occasional netflix etc
Something well put together, not to heavy.  Quite like the 8 inch size format over the large screens,  lighter and easier to hold
Good battery life reasonably important for rare train trips

nVidia Shield Tablet K1?

£169 at the moment, I think. I got it when it was £149. It's about a year old now, maybe more, but it's perfectly suited for general tablet-ness.

Edit: Maybe not, it's gone end of line...

What about Pixel C if you dont mint with the price. The battery is big and it also has the same processor with K1. One thing that i love is the fully support from google for OS update.

Tablets in general I think. The availability of larger screen smartphones has definitely had an effect on the smaller screen sizes...

So, sent my tab s 8 inch to extended warranty provided by nationwide flex plus account, as it was bootlooping when battery was before 75%,they have decided its not economical to repair so are sending me a cheque for the original purchase price (no excess) so I now have £250 to spend on a replacement, could maybe chip in another £50.....maybe a little more ....

So what can anyone recommend in this price range?
