Hi, I am a bit old school with music, just old in general!!, and have alot of CD's ripped on to a USB stick which I use in my car. At the weekend I was playing about with listening to music on the USB through my AV receiver and it sounded great. However the problem is finding the albums/tracks I want to listen to when I have to scroll through one line at a time via the amps display. So this got me thinking, I have an unused Surface RT which has been reset and updated. I thought it would be nice to have the surface as like a 'head unit' permanently attached to the amp so I can scroll through albums etc to easily find what I want. Now this is where I need the help of you guys to see about the easiest way possible for a simpleton like me to do this. I would like the RT hard wired to my Pioneer VSX 923 and permanently on so on a whim I can just press and play, is this possible?? and if so what are the best apps to achieve a simple to use music library and the best way to connect the RT to the amp.
I would like my music stored on the RT as I dont want to start setting up cloud accounts etc
The amp is not wifi but it is connected via ethernet to my network.
The RT is wifi and has micro HDMI out and USB out
Can i simply connect the RT via usb in the same way i connected the USB memory stick??
Thank you for any advice |
