Thought on either of these two. The Samsung can be had with 4G LTE for £339 yet an iPad Pro 10.5 with 4G would be a lot more and is there all that cost in gain and extra?

Use both (older) models but prefer Samsung 10.5 .
It`s more open and available not tied to Apple software and market.
Kids prefer Samsung as all games seem more compatible as well.
More unusual apps to use as well.
Ipad has higher spec but never notice or use it, just log on and go
