I upgraded from an S3 to the S4 last month and has been the best decision I ever made.
I use my tablet exclusively in landscape mode and mostly for media consumption, so the new 16:10 aspect ratio was the main reason. The screen is superb as expected, they keep getting better and nothing I know even comes close.
The iris scanner to me is a big upgrade over the thumbprint reader for security and works flawlessly, even in a darkened room. With no home button, Samsung logo and smaller bezel, the screen looks far larger than on the S3, when both tablets are roughly the same size.
The larger battery gives at least 4 hours extra usage and I can go days now without needing a top up. Double the internal memory is a huge advantage, and the new S pen feels better, more comfortable in the hand and is actually useful. A good case is essential and one with pen holder built in makes all the difference.
Depending on what you use the S3/S4 for, will decide if it is worth the upgrade or not. I doubt I will ever use the DeX but it's there all the same. For media viewing alone, cost wise the decision was easy enough for me to make.
Also, the exclusive Galaxy skin for Fortnite you can claim as an extra was worthless to me, but seeing your 10 year old nephews eyes light up when told it's his, priceless. |
