I'm looking for a speaker or a pair of speakers to use with a 10" tablet which is fixed to a desktop monitor mount (pillar type) running an application for a severely disabled person. These need to be:
1) Not Bluetooth (it goes to sleep!)
2) Small, preferably clip-on (could be glued to tablet)..
3) Separate 3.5mm jack and USB power supply.
4) Physically adjustable volume (volume to be established by experimentation, then fixed with glue/tape...).
5) If it's a "soundbar" type 250mm long max.
However, only one speaker works when plugged into the tablet. A replacement set of speakers has the same problem, so (as the speakers both work when connected to other devices) I assume it's the tablet's fauly (Glorystargroup JAR101). I don't know what's going on. Poxy thing (that should be a fantastic benefit to the user).
Some cables have plugs that have too much dressing around the top to fit into some tablets properly. Have had to pare off some plastic in the past to get them to fit into a 3.5mm socket properly. As Noiseboy72 said worth checking with some other phones to see if it is a socket issue
