Hope this is an appropriate forum for this question.
I am seeking information on a path towards being able to create VR, using a 360 camera -then making that content interactive.

For instance - enter the VR and you are in a forest. I have an Oculus GO headset so will use that tech in my example....so you enter a forest, using the pointer you can move forward, sideways etc....and navigate the forest. Now, stop in front of a tree...the tree introduces itself, an animated kind of face appears, and you can interact.....turn away and the tree stops talking -thus creating a talking forest....

Is this possible?
What tech would it require?
Is there software available that could do some or all of this?
What programming language would most likely be used in this kind of creating?

Any input most appreciated.

No, it’s not possible with 360 degree footage. You cannot control the viewpoint of the footage after the event.  Once it is shot, it is shot. The only way you could get close would be to pre-shoot every possible path that the end user might take, and then draw on the appropriate piece of footage once the choice had been made. Which then requires constant loading.  To truly be able to roam the forest, it would have to be software created.

I thought of a way, but its painful. Shoot the video, then turn each object you want to be interactive into a 3D model, using the video as a texture map....kinda
