Have had this for over 4 years now and am thinking of upgrading to a new server such as a Synology DS218  or similar. Thinking of Synology as I have only used this make so far. Reason to think of upgrade - I find it is slow at times and there is buffering issues on streaming at times.

Describe your setup in more detail as the issue may not be the NAS as far as buffering is concerned.

What you're streaming, how you're doing it, what apps or players you're using, what devices etc.

I have DS214play as well, had it for a similar time. I did try using plex on it but it was a laggy nightmare and never went to sleep. I`ve had it set up with simple shared folders which I access via wired and wireless to PS4s and TVs across the house and its silky smooth.

Thank you. I am curious - when I log into the NAS, the browser address at the top says "Not secure". Should I be concerned?
