Hey guys,

I posted in the VR forum as I'm currently upgrading my HTPC to suit my Oculus Rift.

Question - Upgrading my HTPC for VR?

I have the core items arriving this week but I'm still undecided on the GPU.

I have £400 to spend and the 1070ti is just tipping below that amount and very tempting, however, every comment I read says they're still valued too high and will be "...dropping soon...".

The question I have is should I just bite the bullet and just get a 1070ti or is it imminently about to drop by quite a bit? And could I get something better by that time?

I know that's a bit of a rhetorical question as components are dropping and being superseded all the time but with the RTX releases would a 1070ti now for £400 be a stupid purchase?

I can't honestly see the prices dropping anytime soon due to the lack of competition from AMD.

Yeah I'd probably agree.

After posting this I had already been watching the prices but there wasn't much shift. I thought about holding off until Cyber Monday.

Bought a second hand GTX 1080 from here for way under 400 in the end.
