Hi all.
I purchased a Commodore 64 recently but I'm struggling to connect it to my LG smart TV. Using the leads that came with it, nothing I'm doing seems right.
It came with lead which slots to the Aerial connection and the other end into the C64. The TV is also connected to Freeview and also Sky.
Does anyone know how I can get to play those games I once did thirty years ago.

Kind regards Denn.

For the aerial input to work you'd need a TV with an analogue terrestrial TV tuner in addition to the digital one for freeview.

Some of the older Smart TVs had it, but if it's not working it's likely yours doesn't.

Does the console output S-Video or Composite and can the TV accept either signal?

Thank you for the reply.
I'm not too sure about s video or composite. I'm not that tech savvy which is probably why my efforts failed. When I did have one in the 80s all TVs just had an input for the lead provided.
I tried to find a youtube video with the set up but I couldn't find anything.
I'll keep asking and looking.

Kind regards Dennis

That TV does appear to have an analog tuner so it should be able to pick it up.

However you will need to make sure that the aerial lead from the C64 is plugged into the TV.  Try directly at first to ensure you get it working before passing it through the others boxes.

You will then need to retune the analog tuner with the C64 turned on it should hopefully then pick up the one channel from the C64 and display it.

Set your TV to channel 3 or 4 and if you have coaxial connection this is what you use.

You need to tune the tv in and you don't need one of those to work. That just allows you to swap between the computer and aerial
