Hi All,

Just a quick question. I have just bought a new laptop and will be moving all my data from my current to the new laptop.

I have decided to buy a m.2 SSD but cant decide if i need 250GB or 500GB?

There is a difference in price of £44

My current laptop (which i have had for 5 years) has 1TB HDD but just looking and in that 5 years I have used 181GB.

Whats your thoughts?

By the way i intend to buy the Samsung 970 EVO 250 GB V-NAND M.2 PCI Express Solid State Drive.

Thanks

Avoid the expensive 250GB Samsung and spend the same amount a normally priced 480/500/512GB model, like a Crucial MX500 (assuming your laptop's M.2 slot takes SATA drives as well as PCIe drives, most do).

what is the new laptop ??? would it make use of the full bandwidth of the Evo, can it actually take a M.2 drive ???? some Dell's cannot as they have normal SATA drives. But if yes then I would get the bigger version, you can never have too much storage space, trust me, been there and done it, replaced a 128 with a 256 then a 500.
