I have a Corsair CMPSU-450VX PSU that came out of a PC many moons ago. It was working at the time, is in VGC and has just passed the paper clip test with a 3.5" HDD.

It seems a shame to chuck it, even through WEEE, and am happy to list it for FREE ( p&p) or collection, but am not up to date with PCs and have no idea if it would still be of use.

Would you all think I might get interest?

Spec is

Format : ATX
Electrical Requirements AC : 90-264VAC
Connectors
    1x ATX 24-pin & 20-pin Compatible
    1x EPS/ATX12V 8-4-pin
    1x PCI-E 6-pin
    6x SATA
    6x 4-pin Peripheral
    2x Floppy

Dimensions (WxHxD)    5.9 x 3.4 x 5.5" (15 x 8.6 x 14cm)

Thanks for your time.

It is still a capable PSU, it has SATA and a PCI-e power connector - certainly worth listing on gumstree for a nominal sum £10-15, or freecycle it.

The ATX standard hasn't changed in decades, so a mere twelve year old PSU supports almost the latest version and does everything you'd need for a brand new PC.

I’ve never been able to fathom out the classified advert system on AVforums. Whether it’s a setting on my account or browser or something else, when I try to view any advert it only brings up a handful of outdated adverts.

It will still work in a modern system as it is ATX which is still the current format (and has been for, basically, forever)... HOWEVER, one thing to bear in mind is that PSUs loose power efficiency the older they become, and all PSU's (no matter how good they are) eventually die of old age. Although it was originally advertised at 450W, it's maximum power output may now be significantly lower and its efficiency curves may be completely different to its original specification.

I guess just make sure that whoever buys it understands this.

It will run any current non-gaming PC with ease.
