Hi. I've just purchased a Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-HD2 motherboard from ebay. Never come accross this problem before but I can't get the 8 pin CPU plug to seat fully in the socket. The 24 pin ATX plug is nicer and snug but the 8 pin just won't seat down correctly. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks in advance. Regards Paul.

Are you mixing it up with the 8-pin PCI-E plug? They're almost identical but some of the pins are slightly different shapes:

Guess your talking about 12v ATX socket.

Are the pins in the plug from the PSU all seating properly, they sometimes come out of align or become unclicked. Also check the alignment on the ATX socket itself and make sure there is nothing in it that is preventing it from seating properly.
