ML240R RGB AIO Thermal Paste ( and other AIO's ) any good?

Been looking around for an AIO ( 240mm would be ideal ) and the CoolerMaster ML240R RGB is looking to be the one of choice more so for price but also it looks really nice ( other was Cosair H110 or the 115 but slightly more expensive )

Question to ask is, is it worth spending a couple of extra quid on some MX4 to use in place of the stock thermal paste it comes with or is it something that will last for 1-2 years maybe?

It will be used on a 2700x set to around 4.0GHZ

Take a look at the link for a rundown on some of the pastes available. I've used both Arctic Silver 5  and Arctic MX-4 , which are around the same ball park figure as far as pricing goes. All manufacturers claim they have an edge but it really is about using the right stuff for the job. Two things folk get wrong, not cleaning the two surfaces and applying to much paste to the surface on application.

Many thanks, I've got some paper towles and alcohol lined up to clean the previous paste off. I'll be going for the pea approach for reapplication ( figure the verge method isn't the most ideal option )

No the verge method is not the best way. Either a pea or a thin X from corner to corner and an old credit card cut in half to spread the compound evenly. A Q tip with some isopropyl alcohol is about the best way to clean the surfaces.

No, a grain of rice is way to small and wrong. Two grains of rice much better. So lets go petit pois

I have found a line at on end of the HS and use a plastic card to spread it thinly and evenly all over. IIRC Thermal Grizzly also recommend this way for their Kryonaut.
