The audio chip won't matter if you're not using it, which you won't be if you're using your graphics card's HDMI audio device instead.
It primarily makes a difference if you're using analogue outputs where it'll affect sound quality. If you're using a digital output like S/PDIF then the differences lie mainly in features such as real time dolby digital compression for games (required to get 5.1 over S/PDIF) or headphone virtualisation.
So basically ignore it unless there's a particular piece of audio processing you want that your current setup doesn't provide. |
