i5 Laptop - £500 Max

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone could possibly recommend a laptop, no more than £500 ideally.

I currently have a HP Pavilion but it's just about given up the ghost after about 6 years. And the lid is knackered.

Certainly don't need any gaming hardware, it's just for general use, watching films, music, web browsing etc.

Ideally I'd like an i5 processor, and 1TB of disk space. 8GB Ram and a Full HD screen would be preferable.

I've never been very computer savvy I'm afraid! Finding my last laptop was a nightmare!

while it only has a 256gb SSD (as you're after 1tb) - is there any reason not to buy this? especially at the price of 550... the price is supposed to go back up at midnight I think..

Cheers for that, I'll have a look. Had a browse yesterday, just haven't seen anything that's taken my fancy.

Edit: It was a pretty shambolic Black Friday/Cyber Monday on the Laptop front this year.

yeah, I was holding out for some deals... started off looking for something ~350, but was after 1920x1080 resolution as a prerequisite...then wanted 8gb ram, SSD etc... and of course the price jumped up a bit...

I had a look on ebuyer, didn't really want to touch ebay so haven't looked on there either, so where have you been looking?

Usual haunts. Ebuyer, Ebay, Amazon, PC World, Laptops Direct - Anywhere really that looked like they may have had something decent to offer.

Just never seem to find exactly what I want, which is why I started this thread. Thought maybe someone might have spotted a few deals over the last week or so.

Did you find one? my sister is after similar and I found this one, gpu isnt anything special but should be fine for movies
