A little confused at the moment. I have just purchased a Dell U2417H ultrasharp monitor to use with my HP Envy x360 laptop. The graphics card is an Intel Iris 540 which intel states it can support HD resolution with no problems. Im confused then why the monitor isnt as sharp as I would expect it to be. Test is fine but images arent overly crisp

Am I doing something wrong?

It's hard to tell from a general description but if some of the stuff on screen is fine then I'd be inclined to think the setup is OK and it's either a characteristic of the monitor or perhaps odd behaviour from specific programs.

Or it may be that whatever you're used to seeing images on has been over-sharpening them. While it's not common in monitors, TVs have been known to do it.

Do you have the monitor set to 1920x1080 and 100% scaling?

Could it be the second version of that monitor and that the native resolution is actually 2072x1080 instead of 1920x1080.
