cleaned my MacBook screen as it’s filthy and I used some isopropyl wipes that are for computers and phones etc that were in out office.

Did it once and noticed some cloudiness to screen and tried again and it got worse !!

Then used damp cloth and nothing happened

Just wondered if anyone can shed any light as to what it is and if I’ve damaged the MacBook. It’s not the end of the world as I can only notice it one the edge that’s black or when the screen is dark but any ideas or suggestions would be good

Hmm, it looks like the IPA has damaged the surface coating.

Maybe a some window cleaning solution (very dilute) on a micro fibre cloth might help?

This looks like a delamination.

Apple put a protective coating on the screen, which should last the life of the product, but in some models it has been known to start peeling away slowly. There used to be an extended warranty programme for them, but we believe it has finished

Ah right thanks, I did read that it had finished. Think I just need to either manage as is or remove the coating altogether

No worries, if you feel that it isn't that bad then we would recommend continuing to use it as it is
