Just a little update to my server.

Original link here: http://www.avforums.com/forums/home-entertainment-pcs/744911-deksawyer-omaura-tf8-hi-def-slim-media-player-build.html

Up to date build:

Asus E35M1-M PRO
4GB DDR3
Be Quiet BN180 L8 430w Pure Power PSU
2x 2TB Caviar Green (  1 OS drive - no idea what that is)
Fractal Design Define Mini

Still running WHS 1 as I didn't like version 2 very much.

It chugs away quite nicely and so far has been fast & reliable. Bloody silent as well despite the big drives. And these wee boards are bloomin marvellous!!

In fact, the Omaura HTPC build is still serving me well, although I'm now only use it with XBMC for movies, I'm tempted to get the E45M1 fired in there to get some HD Audio.....

cheers

D.

Very nice build. I've got the Deluxe mini-ITX version of that board in my HTPC. In the future when I need more storage I'll be looking either to do a similar home server build or get a new smallish HTPC case that can accomodate three ore four 3.5" drives and do an all in one HTPC/server. Loving the Omaura case, very nice indeed.

Actually here a third for the super neat cabling. I would also comment that thats one of the best photographs of a case interior I've seen. Just to be sure, that case in the picture is a Fractal define Mini as this

Well thank you very much. Yes it's a Define Mini case (it's not so mini though) and it's a wonderful case.

I'll be building a hackintosh this week and if it goes well, I'll be having another of these....

Here's the Hackintosh:

i5 2500K
GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3
8GB 1600
Crucial M4 64GB
(another) Define Mini case
(another) Be Quiet BN180 L8 430w Pure Power PSU

The case & PSU are SO quiet - why use anything else!!

Hi deksawyer, Very good design for your server. I also hope to use "E35M1-M PRO" in my computer, however, I hope to place it in my standard 1U rack box. Could you tell me the most highest of this board ? Any advice are welcome. thank you very much!
regards, vs

I think the ram, cooler and I/O ports are all pretty much the same height, with maybe the ram being the tallest.
