Macbook Pro 2011 Reformat

Hello guys, can you help me with reformatting my macbook pro? the attached photo contains my specs.

First off, I would really like to maximise the performance of my laptop. I tried to consult mac centers but they said that my laptop is too outdated (model 2011) and they cannot longer upgrade it. I am still hopeful because i don't want to get rid of it and buy a new one.

Your screenshot shows a Mid-2010 model, not a 2011 one.

What is the problem with reformatting? With the HFS file system you won't get any performance gains...

I agree with Bl4ckGryph0n save that you could well have issues with apps etc causing problems and slowing down your Macbook. If your not sure on how to go about cleaning it up yourself then use a utility like CleanMyMac X, not sure if you can get it for free these days and search for alternatives available.

In any event doing a reinstall as suggested will no doubt improve the performance, somewhat, of  a sluggish machine. Mac centers are seemingly only interested if your product is under warranty.
