Upgrading my CPU

Would I benefit by upgrading my CPU to a higher market ryzen processor ? I use my PC for browsing the web and light gaming....
Its lightening fast already to be fair
It has to be AM4

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2400G CPU
Motherboard: Gigabyte A320 M-H
Ram: 2 x 8GB of HyperX Fury DDR4
SSD/HDD: SSD 120GB, HDD 1TB
GPU: RadeonRX 580
PSU: Cooler Master MasterWatt Lite 500W 80 Plus
Chassis: Fractal Design

Had a quick look in my case and the heatsink fan covers the four screws which hold the heatsink in a little which looks a bit tricky to unscrew....

Seen this and wondering if it would be a decent upgrade ?

When changing anything in the pc do you need to ground yourself to prevent static?

Just bought an anti static wrist strap for future

I never bother, but if your house tends to generate static you might want to.

I decided to get a CPU upgrade and am now watching lots of youtube videos to ensure I do it properly.
On the videos the existing CPU heatsink has a latch which you take off before taking the cpu out. Mine has screws however, do i just un screw the 4 screws ?
It should come with thermal paste too ?

I've replaced heatsinks before and i have watched a few youtube videos on how to replace a CPU and it seems straightforward - Ive also bought an anti static wrist strap.

Anything important i should take note of before I install it ?

I have upgraded my BIOS to the lastest firmware so should be fine

Screw heads might be normal screws through to a backplate or they might be intel-style pushpins where they just need a 90° turn to release.

They probably won't be combined with a latch, but mounting mechanisms do vary and without seeing it I couldn't say for sure. Does it have a model name on it? If so you should be able to look up the installation instructions and follow them in reverse

The cooler bundled with the CPU will come with thermal paste but it may be pre-applied so if you'd prefer to use your current cooler then you'd need to buy your own (some TIM-clean or similar to remove the old is also helpful).

If you've got a custom fan profile you may want to reset it to a default one, different fans have different minimum voltages so it may not be able to spin up the fan on the new cooler.

Is it ok to install on a bed ? I heard it can generate static if you do, the other option is to use a wooden table

Installed my Ryzen 5 3600 now no problems

It didn't come with a back plate which was confusing, i had to use the one which came with myy PC

Hi guys.
If i set my power plan to energy saver my heatsink is silent. however if i set it to full performance i get a whirring noise ( im guessing this is normal because the CPU is under load more ? )
Here is my work around. When not gaming i'll keep it on power saver. then when i am gaming switch to high performance. That seems to be the best solution
