I think the hunking big gaming tower pc is a little bit too much for me now plus they look fudge ugly

really all i do now is surf the net and download loadfs of s**t that i drag onto my nas
dont bother gaming anymore but i like a nice fast cpu and obviously decent ssd with the ability of hooking yo a couple of external drives for storage

any help would be great

Mini PCs in general are definitely the way to go if you don't need something with massive processing capabilities burning hundreds of watts.

I'm not a great fan of the two box design like the NUC models personally, moving the power supply to a separate box or oversized wall plug always seemed counterproductive to me. They're also using Intel's lowest power U suffix processors instead of the normal desktop ones or intermediate T or S suffix models that some of their rivals use. The 5250U was comparable in processing power to entry level desktop CPUs like the G3900, although it did get all the features enabled and the faster integrated graphics.

£190 for a 2014 machine is also asking a lot, you can pick up other MiniPC models of the same age like a Dell 3020 Micro or Fujitsu Q520 for around £100.

then if its not great ive not spent a lot. i can go up to about £800.  its only really for the net and downloading so dont wanna spend silly money

the pc im on now was built 2 years ago by me and i ended up spending close to 4 grand for what id say is  mid range. i know when i sell it ill get £200 topps as secondhand pcs fetch dogs*it money
