recording software - stream recording

Hi guys

wondering if you can help me. I want to record myself playing tennis so I can playback  my technique. I am going to rig up the phone up high on a Joby Gorilla mount but won't really get a view to see what the angle is like on the phone itself given position. (up against wall). don't want to use selfie mode on phone as the quality won't be as good.

Therefore is there any software that I can stream the recording onto an ipad (another device) - so I can see what angle the phone is actually shooting - i.e it has all of the court

thanks in advance. any other ideas would be appreciated.

Can you not use the Iphone in screen camera mode to set it up? I'm an I Phone virgin so I'm guessing. I can do that with my tablet.

Could be difficult when the phone is stuck up a 10' pole on its Joby Gorilla mount.
I can do exactly what you want but it requires a camcorder with near field remote control. The picture appears on my Smartphone and I have full control of the camera recording, zoom and the pan/tilt cradle. If you can find an App to transmit your phone's picture to another phone you may get what you want.
Suggest you borrow an upmarket consumer cam and download the App onto your phone.

For info. The setup I use:- Panasonic HC-V800 or 750, a Panasonic VW-CTR1 pan/tilt cradle and my Smartphone with Panasonic's Image App downloaded.

I think OP wanted to fix the problem while continuing to use the iphone - not unreasonable, but maybe a sports-camera like a GoPro (lookalike) would be better, as it "should" be more rugged if hit by a stray ball.  However, these cameras have very wide lenses... so it may need some zooming-in ( via Edit software ), with some loss of quality.
The issue with OP's Iphone ( and others!) is the better camera is put on the other side to the screen, making if rather difficult to see what's in view.
There is a "Drift" sports camcorder (pricey), that has a side-mounted screen, which may suit . . . but I'm guessing OP doesn't want to buy new kit, even if a GP Lookalike is about £35 . . . . but if he thinks of this as an "insurance policy" that might be sensible..... BTW most will take Micro SD cards . . . Probably a good idea to buy a spare Battery   Charger, too.  All-in, about £50 should be OK . . . .  Hope that helps.

thanks for the responses guys. so here are my current options:

1. get a tripod and put the phone on there. only problem with this solution is that the tripod will be on the court and I will be hitting/running into it. I could it put by the net but I want to have an angle where I see the whole point of play.

2. Buy  joby gorilla magnetic mount and put a phone up high against the back wall (I have a Samsung S7) but as mentioned above it is very difficult to see what the angle of the camera is facing at as I want to use the better camera (and not the selfie camera) which makes it near impossible to view what the angle is. it would be a point and hope solution.

3. I am willing to spend maybe £100 pounds to get a Go Pro like device which I can mount on to a joby. would there be a specic joby i need to get or is the connection for these go pro like devices universal? I understand these types of devices lets you stream the screen onto another device via WIFI signal.

is this right? maybe option 3 is best?

How about you record it on the iPad, just start it recording then start playing.

Failing that just buy a action camera with remote?

I could do it on an Ipad but I would have same problem? I cannot see what I am recording if I am mounting it up high on a back fence/wall using a Joby type gorilla device?

Did you rule-out the "Drift" action camcorder on Cost perhaps?
I'm guessing that so long as the camera appears to be pointing roughly right, that is good enough. The wide-angle of the lens means it is difficult to miss-frame. However, it does mean the results will be tiny and may not suit enlargement enough to watch your tennis "action" - For this you probably need a real camcorder with modest zoom and as these (some!) allow the LCD to be rotated, you can check the alignment ( substituting you with a white football, or a chair etc.

This would be far better visually, but maybe over your Budget.... unless, as I suggested it's like an "insurance" against breaking your phone, and can be used to film Family Friends.

The Panasonic V380 is just over £200 and has a 50x Zoom lens so you can get close to the action, while being located well back. You will probably have to make a holding-rig so the whole can be attached easily, =maximising Play-time. Something in wood will suffice if done with some care.  I expect there is a boundary fence using chain-link. Probably a good idea to add a releasable Ty-Wrap, so idiots can't dislodge it, as you'll be concentrating on Play...     Do check the LCD does rotate as required before buying.
