GOPRO 4K playback on PC

Simple question really.  
Going on holiday and thinking about recording in 4K. Have 4K TV so can play back on that. But what about my PC.
It's an old I5 cpu with 4gb ram (need more ram). Also have new laptop I5 with 8gb ram

I think you would need some conversion software to reduce your 4K footage to MP3 to play it on your PC & LT, but try it first. If the monitor on your PC is as old as the PC, this wouldn't show 4K in a good light, so to speak. You 4 K files would also be massive, so if the drives on the PC & LT are nearing full capacity, you need to consider some other form of storage.
