Afternoon all. I'm new to the AV world, so please bare with me. I've been tasked with finding a USB production switcher. Essentially, we are looking for a USB version of the ATEM Mini ATEM Mini | Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini We would like to have the picture in picture option so that we can see both the presenter and audience simultaneously. We have two cameras (one is HDMI and one is USB) and we intend to convert the HDMI camera to USB and control it.

Any ideas of what/where/if this is even possible please?!

Thanks

Why do you want to use USB? HDMI will be much better quality and will be lower latency.

The ATEM unit is useful, as you can output to USB C as a webcam - for streaming etc.

When you say control the the camera, what do you mean? exposure, zoom, focus etc. or pan and tilt? There's much better ways of doing this than trying to use the basic control available over USB and much less limitations than that imposed by the maximum distance of USB when using it to send video.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. So, it's for video conferencing using Zoom. We currently have a USB webcam controlled by one PC and a second HDMI camera controlled by a second PC. What we're after, is something that will control both cameras via USB as we'll use a converter for the HDMI to USB as we know that you can't convert the other way around. The setup is an existing one and rather than re-do the room, we want to see if this solution would work first.

I think you will just need to use some software on the PC and put up with the latency in that case. You may need to manage HDCP depending upon the camera and capture device you get, but some of the gaming ones are OK.

Sounds like there's much better ways of doing this if I'm honest.

Thanks. You're probably right, but if there was something we could use with two USB inputs, it would save us redesigning the room. Do you know of any software that'd be capable of doing this?
