Hitachi 22inch TV - can't access settings when viweing HDMI

Bit of an odd one this. Only picked up the set today, and the instructions don't explicitly say, but do imply that you can adjust picture settings whichever input you are using.

But for some reason when using HDMI (Fire TV Stick) I can't access any settings at all. Is this a thing on cheap tv's? Thanks

It's not a fault but it's an oddity that's for sure.
I've come across this on the Vestel made Hitachi's and other brands manufactured by Vestel.
You'll find the Menu button doesn't work unless the internal tuner is being viewed but the “Q Menu” button works in all modes.
