Sharp lc-32CFE6242E firmware from Sharp screwed up my tv

I recently bought a Sharp lc-32CFE6242E.
I had a problem that in dot by dot mode on 1080p the picture color looked faded and the picture wasn't sharp.
Everything else about the tv was fine.
Dot by dot mode worked fine on 1080i,
So I thought this is only a small problem maybe if I contact Sharp a system update will sort it out.
Anyway I emailed them and they sent me an update file for to put on a usb stick and put into my tv.
I did that and now everything on my tv is screwed up.
The Sharp logo at start up is purple and upside down.
The menu is also upside down and doesn't look right.
The source button doesn't work right, it pops up a favourites list.
The language of the menu is in a foreign language.
I did manage to change it back but the tv is now basically unusable.
I'm going to try ringing Sharp tomorrow to see if they can bring it back to the way it was.
If anyone knows anything about Sharp TVs please let me know.
I live in Ireland so it's probably the same as a UK TV.
Anyway for now I'm screwed.
