Hi, I have a problem with my LG 42LK450. It worked without issues for a long time but now out of a sudden it just won't turn on anymore. When I plug the power cable in, the red standby light will turn on but it immediately turns off after 5 seconds. This happens all the time, no matter for how long I disconnect the power cable. It's not flashing, it just lights up for 5 seconds and then it's gone.

I had a look at the PSU board but I didn't find any bad caps. Any suggestions other than getting a replacement PSU board? Thank you.

To troubleshoot the psu properly you'd need the circuit diagram, a multimeter, an ESR meter and fault-finding knowledge so if a replacement psu is reasonably cheap I'd just go for it.

Ok thanks. I have another question, in my country I can only find an older revision of the PSU board (EAX61124201/15 to be precise, whereas my current PSU board is EAX61124201/16) - is this a no-go or do we expect it to work since it is from the same year and it looks exactly the same?

Personally I wouldn't take a chance on it unless it was really cheap.
There could be differences in the circuit.

The seller told me the voltage of the CFLs is different - probably won't work then?
