I wonder how many people are enjoying the same issues as me. Now tvs must be so cheap to manufacture because I'm experiencing multiple returns. So I buy a brand new 65 inch Fauld TV, a high end set.. It was excellent for a week and then decided it wanted to suddenly give me terrible DSE right in the middle of the screen followed by changing inputs on its own and turning itself on and off.. So after being offered a repair!! Really on a week old TV that cost 1.500 quid I declined and had a brand new replacement delivered. So as we all know we now have the rigmarole of setting up the new TV and storing all the packaging in room big enough. So panel no 2..excellent for the 1st day, on day 2 it decided that three quarters of the way across the screen it would provide me with a nice thick black line running from top to bottom. Another 50 phone calls and god knows how many e mails later and this morning I have panel no 3 in its box in my lounge... Do the factories that put these things together actually do any QC on them before they leave the factory... I suspect not.

Sounds like you've had genuine issues that required a new set each time. .....
You aside I do think that people (particularly AV forum members) have a tendency to go looking for problems that your average non enthusiast TV owner otherwise wouldn't notice or care about.  I love big screens and tech in general but I can't recall ever sending a TV back due to picture issues. I now have a 75" Sony KD75XF9005 which is awesome.  I'm not gonna go looking for issues looking at a black screen in a non real world viewing situation cause undoubtedly I'll find them. My previous budget Hisense HE65K5510 would undoubtedly have had issues if I chose to look for them but I didn't bother as no doubt I'd have been seen sending TVs back every week. I wonder if this is causing a financial burden on the industry or not. Or is it just the enthusiast TV fans which probably represent 1% of ownership that are routinely sending them back in a never ending quest for tv perfection

Well touch wood panel no 3 is good. There was some clouding but the old microfibre cloth did the trick and now that issue is resolved. Interesting to note that this set comes with a 2 year warranty and when I received the first panel I was offered an extra 3 years cover for 68 quid, not bad I thought but left it, now after 2 returns I got an offer for the same 3 years extra cover for 150 quid!! I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact I've returned 2 new tvs because of faults.

That's good you have a set you're happy with.  Who offered you that warranty out of interest?
